Goo Hara, the South Korean K-pop star was found dead in her home in Seoul on Sunday. The death case is under investigation and the cause is still unknown. The Police have not yet filed an official report about her passing.
Goo was a member of the popular K-pop group Kara. It was one of the first such groups to break through the international audience.
The investigation now curves to the primitive cases related to Goo which can help dig the cause of this young star. Police are also linking the case to the suicidal death incident of Goo’s close friend, Sulli occurred just a month ago.
In May 2019, Goo was hospitalized for an alleged suicide attempt. She was found unconscious in her home after posting “Goodbye” on Instagram. She was immediately hospitalized and apologized for causing a disturbance among the fans.
A high-profile legal battle with her ex-boyfriend was reported to be the reason behind it. She claimed her ex-boyfriend threatened her with revenge porn. Goo had to face unrelenting criticism by the press during this case.
On Saturday night, Goo posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption, “Good night.” The fans had no clue this could be her last night.
Earlier this year, she said many things on Instagram which lead fans in concern about her mental health. She once wrote on her Instagram account, “After living all those years with suppression, I look fine on the outside, but it feels I am starting to break into pieces inside.”
Two deaths within a leap of the month have lead questions on the celebrity culture and workload of the K-pop industry.
